Visiting New York City for the first time was an exhilarating experience! From June 13 to 15, 2024, I explored the vibrant streets and iconic landmarks of the Big Apple by walking and using the subway. Here’s a detailed account of my 3-day itinerary, including some fantastic tours.

The places I mentioned can be visited without booking a tour. I did a mix of both—some tours I booked, and some places I explored on my own. New York, like any other city, can be explored on your own (DIY). Enjoy the adventure at your own pace and discover the city’s charm in your unique way!

Day 1: Discovering Manhattan

  • Morning: I started my day at Times Square, the heart of NYC. I joined the “Must-See Attractions Walking Tour” to explore the vibrant atmosphere and learn about the history of this iconic location. The tour cost $49 USD.
  • Afternoon: Next, I headed to the Empire State Building for breathtaking views of the city. I booked a guided tour to skip the lines and get insider knowledge about this architectural marvel. The tour cost $44 USD.
  • Evening: I ended my day with a relaxing stroll through Central Park. I joined a guided walking tour to explore the park’s hidden treasures and famous spots. The tour cost $26 USD.

Day 2: Cultural Immersion

  • Morning: I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A guided tour helped me navigate the vast collection and appreciate the masterpieces. The tour cost $25 USD.
  • Afternoon: I explored the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to pay tribute to the victims and learn about the events of September 11, 2001. I booked a timed-entry ticket for a seamless experience. The ticket cost $28 USD.
  • Evening: I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and enjoyed the stunning skyline views. A guided tour provided fascinating insights into the bridge’s history and construction. The tour cost $35 USD.

Day 3: Iconic Landmarks

  • Morning: I discovered the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. A guided tour enhanced my visit with historical context and interesting facts. The tour cost $59 USD.
  • Afternoon: I visited Chinatown and Little Italy for a culinary adventure. I joined a food tour to taste the best local dishes and learn about the cultural heritage of these neighborhoods. The tour cost $65 USD.
  • Evening: I ended my trip with a visit to Broadway. I booked tickets to a show and experienced the magic of NYC’s theater scene. The tickets cost $80 USD.

Grand Total: $731 USD
